AI use & Acknowledgements
I believe LLMs are an incredibly powerful tool for extending thinking, promoting creativity, and boosting productivity. But I've seen too many instances in the past four years in which people use them to cut corners or misrepresent their skills — disrupting careers from software engineering to education to the arts. I hold myself to a personal AI-use philosophy, and part of that philosophy is citing my use of AI in my communications with other people. This website is a form of communication with you, and I want to be transparent about what I built myself, who helped me, and where AI was involved.
Things I created
- All written copy
- All project content (photography, CAD models, etc)
- Overall site design, incl. colors, style, layout, content etc
Things others helped me with
Andrew was a core contributor to this site:
- teaching me everything I know about web design
- helping me get the website online
- acting a sounding board for design and content ideas
- evaluating the structure and style of my code
- proofreading my content
Things I used an LLM to generate
I am not a web designer, and I don't want to represent myself to be one. Claude Code was used to:
- Brainstorm engagement design
- Implement scrollable elements
- Check for web accessibility standards compliance
